When one combines this and the preceding question on positive tests, one can see that the majority of respondents presenting in this sample of "long-term" COVID-19 illness did not have results that confirmed the diagnosis of this viral illness. In some ways, that has become one of the hallmarks of this diagnosis.

 

History and Physical examination were the tool that most often provided a diagnosis of COVID-19 when this was obtained.
